London, UCL Anthropology, May 2019. A broad range of practitioners, academics and artists convene to discuss how identities can be used to build peace and cohesion.
Funded by UCL-Anthropology and co-organized and co-hosted by UCL-OICD, this two day event was a stimulating blend of lecture-style presentations and facilitated interactive exercises.
The workshop built on the themes of a previous OICD gathering in 2018, hosted by the Aga Khan University, on the theme “Can Identities Positively Transform Societies?“.
As a result of this workshop, UCL and OICD will be publishing a “practitioner toolkit” that will bring together a range of frameworks and methods to help practitioners working across conflict transformation and related sectors.
The OICD is grateful to all participants of the workshop for making it a stimulating and worthwhile event. We also thank UCL Anthropology for providing funding to allow the workshop to take place.
